peanut butter cookies

ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • steps:

  • cream butter, peanut butter, and sugars together in a bowl; beat in eggs.
  • in a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture. put dough in refrigerator for 1 hour.
  • roll dough into 1 inch balls and put on baking sheets. flatten each ball with a fork, making a crisscross pattern. bake in a preheated 375 degrees F oven for about 10 minutes or until cookies begin to brown.

    ingredients:

  • 1lb/500g dried spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 garlic cloves (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • steps:

  • cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water per packet minus 1 minute.
  • heat oil over medium high heat. add garlic and cook until golden - be careful not to burn it.
  • combine garlic oil with pasta, cooking water, parsley, and chilli flakes, serve with parmesan.
  • hot cocoa

    ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar (depending on how sweet you like it)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk of choice or any combination of milk, half-and-half, or cream
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • steps:

  • whisk together the cocoa, sugar, salt, and about 2 tablespoons milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved.
  • whisk in the rest of the milk and heat it over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it is hot.
  • stir in the vanilla and serve.
